The post had generated more than 50,000 views, two likes, 12 reposts and 27 comments as of the time of this fact-check.

The statement suggests that some individuals have worked as public relations personnel for the APC for more than 19 years.

DNN FactCheck reviewed historical records and credible media reports on the formation and existence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to determine whether the timeline in the claim is accurate.
According to a report by Premium Times, published on February 7, 2013, four Nigerian opposition political parties announced their merger into a new political platform known as the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The merger includes the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Similarly, a BBC News report published on February 7, 2013, stated that Nigeria’s major opposition parties had merged to form the APC ahead of the 2015 general election.
The merger involves the ACN, led by Nuhu Ribadu, the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), headed by former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari, as well as the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) and All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
The party was later registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2015 general election.
From its formation in 2013 to 2026, the APC has existed for about 13 years.
This means it is not possible for anyone to have been doing PR for the APC for over 19 years, as the party did not exist 19 years ago.
